Lithium keep a position

Use of polymeric elements for manufacture CRAFTMANN batteries is again postponed for half a year. The basis of this decision was carried out research in comparison of density of energy of various types of elements: Ni-MH, Li-ion, Li-pol.

Polymer elements possess a number of advantages in comparison with lithium and nickel-metal-hydride. For example, polymer cells have low weight, not toxic, theoretically have the greater density of energy and can be made in any form. It becomes possible polymer in future became a basis cell for batteries. But the today's technological level does not allow to achieve stable quality of polymer cells, and the volume of manufacture of polymer cells does not allow to make good cost.

On the other hand, the technology of lithium cells is considerably advanced and allows to reach the big density of energy in the standard sizes so the prize on capacity of polymeric elements is not obvious.

Except for that as have shown results of tests for life expectancy, polymer cells frequently grow old more quickly, than lithium or nickel-metal-hydride cells. As a result it turns out, that cost of a charge-discharge cycle of the polymer battery is more dear in 2 times than lithium and in 5 times than metal-hydride battery.
